Project 1: Making Middle School Math Fun Again!

Help me give my students the organizational skills they need in real life and keep the education that they deserve fun!

My Students
This year is going to be our best year yet! The students at my school are students that thrive to do their best. They work hard in the classroom as well as at home to take care of family members and friends. The students come from all different backgrounds, cultures, and ethnicities. Some of them have rough home lives and have overcame obstacles that are beyond incredible! My students are amazing and I am so excited to see what their future holds!

My Project
These materials will help my students become responsible adults and help them get the education that they deserve. The students need to stay organized. The hanging folders are going to be used to keep students responsible for their make up work. Calculators are used daily in my classroom and will be organized with the pocket organizer. The students will be held responsible for their returning their calculators every day. The students will turn their work in to color coded trays to help them stay organized and turning their work in.

Students need to be engaged.

The students love to do problems on the dry erase boards and explain how they did the problems to the rest of the class. It’s as if they are the teacher! The students need to use manipulatives such as dice, equation cards, or fraction pieces to keep them engaged in learning. They love using these pieces during math races at the board, creating linear equations, and using dice to help solve an equation. The manipulatives keep the students wanting to be at school, wanting to learn, and striving to be successful!

Project 2: A New Version of Middle School Math

Help me give my students the organizational skills that they need in every day life and keep the education that they deserve fun!

My Project
These materials will help my students become responsible adults and help them get the education that they deserve! The students need to stay organized. The wall organizer will be used to help students be responsible for their make up work. Calculators are used daily in my classroom and will be organized with the pocket organizer. The students will be held responsible for returning their calculators ever day.

The students will turn work in every day to one of the colored trays.

Students need to be engaged. In my class, we use dry erase board materials daily. The students solve problems using the boards, markers, and erasers. Then several of them are picked to play "teacher" and show the students how to do the problem. They love taking leadership roles and being the center of attention of course! The students need to be using manipulative's such as dice and equation tiles regularly. They love using the dice to win math races at the board and create an equations. The equation tiles will be amazing for the students to create and solve independently throughout the class. These type of manipulative's keep students wanting to be at school, wanting to learn math, and striving to be successful in the classroom!
